Research Statement My name is Shreyas Skandan and I'm currently a PhD Student in the CIS Programme at the University of Pennsylvania. I'm part of the G.R.A.S.P Laboratory, at the Vijay Kumar Lab under Prof. Camillo Jose Taylor and I previously worked at the Rehabilitation Robotics Lab. My research is in Deep Learning and Machine Perception. I'm currently exploring the applications of deep learning with visual data as well as applying stereoscopy efficiently for robot perception. I previously worked as an Application Developer at the Vijay Kumar Lab, before which I graduated from the M.S.E in Robotics programme at Penn where I worked on my Master's Thesis under Prof. Camillo Jose Taylor, which was "A survey of High Performance Dense Stereo Algorithms for Real Time Depth Estimation" -- a video of the presentation can be found HERE |
